Th eregistration of the Legal heir is for filing return for the deceased by the legal representative
For submitting request for the legal heir , there are certain documents which are required toi be uploaded amongst which one such document is the legal heir certificate
The following documents are acceptable for Legal heir certificate
(1) The legal heir certificate issued by the court of law.
(2) The legal heir certificate issued by the local revenue authorities
(3) The surviving family member certificate issued by the local authorities
(4)The registered will
(5) The family pension certificate issued by the State / Central Government
This is as specified in the income tax website
Once the documents are uploaded in the request and approved , after that the legal heir can file the return as the legal representative for the deceased
